EZ Puller offers four electric pot pullers for crab, and the names can be confusing at first. They differ in pipe size, height, and series. Here's how to tell them apart and choose the one that fits your fishing.
Short answer: The EZ-E80 is a 1.5" Schedule 80 electric hauler on a 65" davit. The EZ-E80X is the same unit with a 75" extended davit. The PRO-1 is a 1.5" Schedule 80 unit from the high-torque PRO series, and the PRO-2 is a 2" Schedule 80 unit for the heaviest commercial work.
Side by Side
| Model | Davit size | Schedule | Height / series |
|---|---|---|---|
| EZ-E80 | 1.5" | 80 | 65" standard |
| EZ-E80X | 1.5" | 80 | 75" extended |
| PRO-1 | 1.5" | 80 | PRO high-torque series |
| PRO-2 | 2" | 80 | PRO high-torque series |

EZ-E80: The Standard Electric Hauler
The EZ-E80 is our standard 1.5" Schedule 80 electric pot and trap hauler. It suits recreational crabbers and light commercial use who want a davit that lifts the pot and swings it aboard. Schedule 80 pipe has the same outside diameter as Schedule 40 but a thicker wall, which adds stiffness under load.
EZ-E80X: Extra Height
The EZ-E80X is the same hauler on a 75" extended davit. The added height helps on boats with a high rail or if you want the line to come off the wheel higher. Taller arms put more leverage on the mount, so use a solid sleeved mount.
PRO-1 and PRO-2: Built for Heavier Work
The PRO-1 is a 1.5" Schedule 80 hauler from our high-torque PRO series, and the PRO-2 steps up to a 2" davit. Both are designed for fishermen who pull heavy pots from deep water or run many pulls a day.
Which One Should You Choose?
- Weekend crabbing, moderate depth: EZ-E80
- High rail or want more lift: EZ-E80X
- Heavier pots, frequent use: PRO-1
- Heavy commercial strings, deep water: PRO-2
Whichever you choose, match the mount to the davit diameter and wire the circuit for the motor's current draw.
